Obituary for Alice K. Berg (Ramsland)
Alice Berg, 89, of Parsippany, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2022, after a long illness.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Tuesday from 4pm through 8 pm in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068, shookfarmer.com. A Funeral Ceremony will be offered on Wednesday 11 am at Calvary Evangelical Free Church, 450 Fells Road, Essex Fells, NJ 07021. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, NJ.
Born in 1932 to Arne Ramsland and Ella Ramsland (Olsen) in Brooklyn, NY. She moved to Orange at the age of 10 years old. In 1954, she married Arvid Berg and they settled in Parsippany in 1958, building their home. In her youth, she attended Cleveland Street Church, which then moved to the Calvary Evangelical Free Church. For 42 years, Alice worked as a secretary for Calvary Evangelical Free Church in Essex Fells and was elected as recording secretary for the church for 70 years. She served on the board at the Cliffs at Eagle Rock Assisted Living for over five years.
Pre-deceased by her parents Arne and Ella Ramsland, her husband Arvid Berg, her sister, Eleanor Crawford and her husband Forest. Surviving are her beloved children, Sharon L. Maricle (Philip L.), Arne M. Berg, and Sandra J. Berg; dear brother, Clarence “Bud” Ramsland (Sharon); caring brother-in-law, Roy Berg (Millie.) Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Calvary Evangelical Free Church to benefit TEAM (Doyles) or to the Calvary Evangelical Free Church General Fund.
