Obituary for Barbara R. Mazzetta Palatella
Barbara Rose Mazzetta Palatella, 60, of Roseland, passed away on October 19, 2021.
She proudly grew up in Bloomfield and settled in Roseland in 1992. Barbara spent years working as a legal secretary at various law firms in North Jersey. She was a dedicated worker, making sure to provide for her family and ensure her children were happy and received an excellent education. Above all, Barbara was a best friend and mother to everyone she met; she was an active listener and gave the best advice. She thoroughly enjoyed swapping recipes with friends and feeding anyone around her. She loved being the loudest cheerleader and biggest fan at every one of her children’s activities and events. Barbara also enjoyed all holiday festivities, yoga, and traveling the world. However, spending quality time with loved ones brought her the most joy.
Barbara is predeceased by her mother, Loretta Mazzetta (nee Via).
She is survived by her father, Frank Mazzetta; beloved husband, Nicholas Palatella; cherished children whom she referred to as her gifts, Nicholas Robert and Francesca Rose; loving sister, Michele Geiger, and her husband Edward; dear nieces, Patrina and Adrianna.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Monday from 4 PM through 8 PM at the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068, shookfarmer.com. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Tuesday 10 AM at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 28 Livingston Ave, Roseland, NJ, with an interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, stjude.org.
