Obituary for Brian Macowski
Brian Macowski, 66, of Wake Forest, NC, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2021.
He was born in Aurora, Illinois on August 17, 1955 to Elizabeth Brown Macowski and William Macowski, Jr. He grew up in Caldwell, NJ, and attended St. Aloysius School, Grover Cleveland Junior High School and, James Caldwell High School. During high school, he was active in the JCHS Hockey Club and the Columbian Squires, and was an avid New York Yankee and New York Giants fan. He also enjoyed travel, especially when it involved camping and fishing.
Brian went on to attend Bowling Green University and later received a BFA, with honors, in Industrial Design/Product Design at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI. He was a longtime resident of Cardiff-by-the-Sea, CA, where he was an Industrial Designer for Pogue and Associates, San Diego, CA for 29 years.
Surviving are his loving parents, Betty and Bill Macowski, his siblings Susan Burgio (Jim), Bud Macowski (Liz), Tom Macowski (Lorie), Joseph Macowski, Betsy Verniero, Patty Lord (Kevin) and Nancy Liu (Leonard). He was predeceased by brother-in-law David Verniero.
Brian is also survived by nieces and nephews, Lizz Burgio-Bishop, Christine (Macowski) Levine, Will Macowski, Catherine Macowski, Christopher Macowski, Andrew Macowski, Thomas M Macowski, Matthew Macowski, Olivia Macowski, Kellyanne Verniero, Zachary Lord, Michael Lord, Jackie Lord, Gabriel Liu, Taylor Liu and Allie (Liu) Obrecht.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068 on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A Mass will be offered at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ 07006, on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. Kindly gather directly at the church for the Mass.
