Obituary for Charles H. Waugh

Charles H. Waugh, 84, of East Hanover, NJ, passed away on February 17, 2022.


A service will be offered on Monday at 11 am in the chapel at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Avenue, East Hanover, NJ 07936. Entombment will follow the service. Funeral services are entrusted to Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, Roseland, NJ, shookfarmer.com.


Born in Kearny, he moved with his family to Norfolk, VA during his youth. He returned to Kearny, NJ for high school. He eventually settled in East Hanover with his wife and children in 1978. He began his career at Howard Savings Bank at the age of 17 and retired as Assistant Vice President of Computer Operations in 1991. Later, he was employed by St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, working in the security identification office, retiring in 2020. Known for his diligent work ethic, he hardly missed a day of work throughout his career. A true patriot, he enjoyed American history and would often vacation with his family to historical sites. He was a lifelong Yankee fan, who watched them since he was five years old.


Pre-deceased by his parents, Charles and Olga Waugh and all his siblings.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia M. Waugh (Reheis); devoted children, Jamison Waugh and his wife Julie Riga, Bradley Waugh and his wife Kimberly, and Tara Atkinson (Waugh) and her husband Jonathan; cherished grandson, Blake Atkinson.
