Deborah K. Palmeri, 73, of Caldwell, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2021. Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, N.J. 07068, shookfarmer.com. Trisagion will begin at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Nicholas, Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 80 Laurel Ave., Roseland. She will be laid to rest at Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover, N.J.
Born and raised in Newark, she moved to Parsippany and settled in Caldwell. She graduated from Montclair State University when she was 19 years old. For 34 years, she was a beloved and dedicated English teacher for Bloomfield High School. She taught Sunday School for many years and donated monthly to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her for her caring heart and generous spirit.
Her parents were Thomas and Alice Kounelias.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 ½ years, Sebastian R. Palmeri; devoted son, Sebastian M. Palmeri and his wife Laura; cherished grandchildren, Kevin, Josephine, and Kyle; loving siblings, Christina Kounelias-Brous and John Kounelias; and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
