Obituary for Dolores Maglio

Dolores Maglio (née Melchionne) passed away peacefully on December 18, 2021 in Sun City, FL surrounded by her loving family.



She was predeceased by her parents Louis and Mary (Perrotti) Melchionne, her brother Anthony Melchionne and her loving nephew Ernest L. Viviani. She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years Frank Sr. and her children Maria, Frank Jr (Lindsay), and Cherilyn (Anthony) Ventola; her grandson Nicholas who was the light of her life, and her sisters Rosie (Ernest) Viviani and Camille Amato.



Born in Orange, NJ, Dolores grew up in Orange until she married and moved to west Orange. She was a 1966 graduate of Livingston High School and was employed as a Medical Transcriptionist for over 25 years at the former St. Mary’s Hospital in Orange and Medical Resources in West Orange. In 2007, she and her husband relocated to Ruskin, FL.



Dolores will be remembered for her fierce love for her family, including her pets. She had a great sense of humor, an infectious laugh, and always opened her heart and home to those she loved. She enjoyed hosting friends and family in her home and making people feel at ease in her presence.



Family and friends may gather on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068, shookfarmer.com for a memorial visitation from 9:00 am -10:30 am. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 11:00 am at St. Philomena’s Church, Livingston, NJ.



Donations may be made to the American Kidney Fund or Saint Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
