Hilda M. August, 92, of Caldwell, passed away on March 30, 2022.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 3pm through 6 pm in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068, shookfarmer.com. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11 am at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Roseland, NJ. Cremation will be private.
Born and raised in Scranton, PA, she moved to Newark, then lived in Irvington, and settled in Caldwell over 20 years ago. Prior to her retirement, she worked with disabled veterans at the VA Administration Office in Newark. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She was a great conversationalist who made friends wherever she went.
Pre-deceased by her parents, Manuel and Mary August and her siblings, Frances Pora, Dolores Fontana, Emanuel August, and Joseph August.
Surviving are her beloved sisters, Eleanor Brunje and her husband Richard and Marie Demmer. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and dear friends.
