Obituary for Janice A. Cholminsky (Allison)

Janice Allison Cholminsky (nee Allison)
Janice A. Cholminsky, a friend to many, a generous heart, and a joy with whom to celebrate life, died on January 26, 2022. She was born on November 30, 1938 in Newark, NJ to the late Lillian Amelia Frederike Higel and the late Robert Gifford Allison. Her sister Adele E. Halsey (Hugh Halsey, Jr.) predeceased her. She was a resident of Newark, Kearny, Fords and East Brunswick. A 1957 graduate of Weequahic High School, Newark, NJ she went on to become an administrative assistant for Foodtown Grocery stores and NJ Public Service, Electric and Gas. She was a member of the Althea Chapter of the Eastern Star. Married on September 3, 1982 to the late Richard E. Cholminsky she became the stepmother of the late Richard E. Cholminsky, Jr. and the late Lois Pereira (Victor Pereira), also to Glenn Chominsky (Mary Cholminsky) and Donna Cholminsky Taylor and eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece, Alison Halsey, Kerry A. Conley, Stacey Carriker and Shannon M. Wraga as well as a number of great nephews, cousins and second cousins. She was everybody’s special aunt.
