Obituary for Joan C. Judge (Condit)

Joan Condit Judge, 78, of Caldwell, New Jersey passed away peacefully on December 14th, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Joan was a proud graduate of James Caldwell HS, class of 1961. She was predeceased by her parents Elinor and Richard Condit, and brother Arthur Condit. Joan is survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 58 years, Thomas V. Judge, brother Robert Condit, children Suzanne J Colby (Andrew), Laura Judge (Danielle) and Michael Judge (Lisa) and grandchildren Marc and Hazel Colby, Logan and Rylee Judge.

Joan spent years dedicating her time to the community she loved as a member of the Garden Club of the Caldwells, and as a Leader for both Cub Scouts and Girls Scouts. She was artistic, creative and talented with a love of the arts. As most of her neighbors know she spent endless hours maintaining the gorgeous gardens at her home. In her younger years, she channeled her passion for art by painting and recently sold one of her beloved pieces.

She started her early career as a switchboard operator at NJ Bell but then moved on to pursue artistic endeavors, spending 10+ years at the Korby Gallery in Cedar Grove, followed by many years as an interior designer at Uptown Country in West Caldwell, White House Furniture in Wayne and D. Marie in Caldwell.

Joan provided an open loving home for her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Family and Friends are invited to gather and visit at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home located at 45 Roseland Ave, Roseland NJ on December 28th at 11:00AM. Joan's Memorial Service immediately follows at 12:00pm. We ask those with a current covid vaccination visit in person, while others can join the service via livestream on the funeral home’s website.
