Obituary for Katharine Cecilia Robson (Kelsh)

Katharine (“Kappy”) Cecelia Robson of Essex Fells, NJ left us on April 10, 2022 after gracing this earth for over 100 years. She was devoted to her family and her Catholic faith. She loved golf, Bermuda and a good book. Blessed with a kind soul and a dry wit, she often attributed her longevity to having a sense of humor and a daily cocktail.

Born August 12, 1921 in Allendale, NJ to Matthew James Kelsh and Katherine Connolly Kelsh, she was raised in Riverdale and Bronxville, NY. She is predeceased by her parents and four younger sisters: Dorothy Ann Crane, Marguerite A. Mulcahy, Mary Jane Carroll and Elizabeth A. Poore. She is also predeceased by the light of her life, her husband of over 50 years, Joseph George Robson, Sr. She attended Good Counsel College before joining the US Navy. After serving our country as a WAVE during WW II, Kappy and Joe raised five children who survive her: Katharine Ann Smith, Hartsville, SC; Joseph G. Robson, Jr., Fayetteville, AR; Mary E. Olmsted, Richardson, TX; Constance Keim, Essex Fells, NJ and Matthew J. Robson of Mary Esther, FL. She is also survived by two daughters-in law, Marcia Robson and Audrey Robson, a son-in-law Steve Keim and ten grandchildren: David Olmsted, Kyle Olmsted, Michael Joseph Robson, Alexis Smith Mason, Matthew Smith, Cora Robson, Shivaun Robson Carter, Serina Robson Allen, Tahlia Robson, and Catharine Kelsh Keim as well as 17 great grandchildren: Katharine Anne (Katie) Mason, Jordan Mason, Coleman Olmsted, Reed Olmsted, Kyndall Olmsted, Easton Olmsted, Olivia Olmsted, Isaiah Robson, Eva Carter, Maple Carter, Jude Carter, Zoey Allen, Ezra Allen, Eli Allen, Sophie Allen, Favio Robson, Alliyah Robson. Sadly she is predeceased by two great granddaughters, Mariah Hurtado and Zoe Smith. She will remain forever in our hearts. Services will be private.
