Obituary for Michael T. McHenry
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Michael T. McHenry, 58 of Livingston, NJ on December 20, 2021 with his devoted wife of 25 years and children by his side.
Born in Brooklyn, NY he resided in Livingston for many years. Beloved husband of Stephanie (Simpson) McHenry. Loving and devoted father of Kelly and Connor McHenry. Dear son of Kathleen McHenry and the late Martin McHenry. Adored brother of Maureen Crespo and Owen and Martin McHenry.
A passionate football fan, he was a member of the Nassau County Touch Football League in Long Island, NY. He played on various teams but one he was most proud of was playing as the linebacker for the Steelers with an undefeated season. Michael was the Director of Sales for Sonesta Suites in Parsippany and previously the Hilton Parsippany for many years.
A man who loved and adored his wife and children and cherished them as the most important things in his life. Anyone that truly knew him, knew he had such a big heart. He loved fiercely and deeply, and we take comfort in knowing that Michael is now at peace surrounded by light.
The most gracious host remembered for his passion for making all feel welcome in his home during family gatherings.
Michael had shared 58 years of unconditional love, infectious laughter, priceless wisdom and unforgettable memories with his family and friends. In our hearts he will always stay, loved, and remembered every day.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, 4 - 8 pm at Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ. Services will begin at 10:30 am at the funeral home followed by Funeral Mass at 11:30 am at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, 28 Livingston Avenue, Roseland. Cremation will be private.
