Obituary for Nancy Tempesta
The family of Nancy Tempesta is sad to announce her passing at home on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. She lived for 86 years, loving every day.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 3rd from 4-8 pm at the Shook~Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 4th at 11:15 am in St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 312 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, NJ. Immediately followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery also in East Hanover.
Nancy was born in Yonkers, NY to Louis and Concetta Mastro. She and her two brothers were raised in Yorktown Heights, NY. She met her husband, Joe Tempesta and made a home in Yorktown Heights, NY. Three of their children, Joe, Louis and Anna were born in NY and then Michael was later born in NJ. The family settled in West Caldwell, NJ, where for generations they have become a beloved part of the community.
When she wasn’t raising her family, Nancy was an administrative assistant at Caldwell College for 10 years. While working she also attended the college! She retired in 1999 from Prudential Insurance in Roseland after a career spanning 10 years.
Her love of family was evident in her smile when attending family celebrations for her children and grandchildren.
Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph, and loving brother Frank Mastro.
Surviving are her devoted children, Joseph and Anne Tempesta, Louis Tempesta, Anna and Vincent Christopher, Michael and Laura Tempesta; cherished grandchildren, Joey Tempesta and his new bride, Katie, Vinnie Christopher, Hunter and Paige Tempesta; loving brother, Louis Mastro and his wife, Sera, and dear sister-in-law, Marie Mastro.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory to the Volunteer First Aid Squads in East Hanover and West Essex would be deeply appreciated.
