Obituary for Peter Katramados

Peter Katramados, 97, of Livingston, died on April 26, 2022.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 10:00 am through 11:00 am at Ss. Nicholas, Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 80 Laurel Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068.

A Funeral Ceremony will be offered at 11:00 am in the church with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover.

Born in Detroit, MI, he grew up in Newark, resided in Irvington and settled in Livingston 52 years ago. During World War II, he served in the US Navy on Midway Island and was a member of the Seabees 33. He was a member of the American Legion Post 440. Prior to his retirement, he was a claims representative for the Social Security Administration in East Orange. For many years, he was a parishioner of Ss. Nicholas, Constantine and Helen Church. He was a past president and secretary for AHEPA and Eureka Chapter 52.

He is pre-deceased by his parents, Theodore and Stavrvoula Katramados and siblings, James Katramados, Mary Katramados-Petine, and George Katramados.

Surviving is his beloved wife, Evangeline Katramados (Giannopoulos) and his sister, Afrodyte Sigillito; brother-in-law, Thomas Giannopoulos and his wife Julie; nephews, Theodore Katramados and his wife Karen, Theodore Petine and his wife Marie, and Theodore Giannopoulos and his wife Melissa; nieces, Pamela Murn and her husband Michael, Barbara Petine-Ericson, and Nicole Gillo and her husband Nicholas; 8 great-nieces and great-nephews.
