Obituary for Richard Paul Vreeland

Richard Paul Vreeland, 78, of Roseland, passed away on January 6, 2022.

Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Sunday from 2pm-6pm in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ 07068, shookfarmer.com.
A Funeral Mass will be offered on Monday 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, Roseland, NJ with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.

Born in Orange, he lived in West Orange and has been a resident of Roseland for the past 40 years. He graduated from St. Benedict’s Prep in Newark and received his bachelor’s degree from Newark College of Engineering. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Vreeland Engineering Co. in Roseland. Richard devoted much time with the Livingston Elks Post 1855. He served as past vice president, past Exalted Ruler, and District Deputy. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Livingston. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his granddaughters.

Pre-deceased by his parents, James and Nettie Vreeland.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Winifred M. Vreeland (Jende); loving daughter, Pauline Veltri and her husband Steven; cherished granddaughters, Caroline Baker and her husband Josh, Alexandra Veltri, and Dr. Katherine Veltri and her fiancé Scott Durant.
