Obituary for Teresa Battista (Juliano)
Teresa Battista was born in Newark, NJ on October 25, 1929. She was the last living of 16 siblings, 9 which lived to maturity.
Teresa met Rocco Battista while working together at FADA Radio & Television Company located in Belleville, NJ. They were married April 20, 1952 in a military Marine Corps ceremony in Newark.
They resided in Newark until 1958, then had a home built in West Caldwell. Teresa and Rocco had three children, Diane, Barbara and Lorraine. Teresa was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. Teresa cherished and enjoyed her three grandchildren Stacey, Matthew, and Ryan and two great-grandchildren, Preston and Jace.
In their retirement in 1999, Teresa and Rocco moved to Toms River, NJ. They both enjoyed the beach and the ocean. In 2019 Teresa moved to Lincoln Park and lived with Diane, as Rocco passed in 2014.
Teresa passed at the age of 92 comfortably at home with family and her caring aide of over one year, Bernice.
Surviving are her devoted daughters, Diane Battista and her partner, John Emmanuelle, Barbara Battista, Lorraine Chabala and her husband, Kenny; cherished grandchildren, Stacey Gombash, Matthew Chabala and his wife, Kelly, Ryan Chabala; adored great grandchildren, Preston Donnelly and Jace Chabala
In addition to her husband, Rocco and parents, Lorenzo and Angelina Juliano, she was predeceased by her siblings who lived to maturity, Angelo, Frank (died in Italy in WWI), Rose, Lucille, Marie, Lawrence, Carmine, Jean, Joseph.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the Shook ~ Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, from 8 -9 am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 9:30 am that will be celebrated at St. Aloysius R.C. Church, 219 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell, NJ. The interment will take place at 12:30 pm in Brigadier General William C. Doyle Cemetery / New Jersey Veteran’s Cemetery, 350 Provincial Line Road in Wrightstown, NJ where she will rest internally with her beloved Rocco.
