Obituary for Walter D. Bayard Jr.
The family of Walter D. Bayard, Jr., lovingly known by all as Butch, is sad to have to say goodbye to their loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, who passed on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge, New Jersey.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family at the Shook~Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, New Jersey on Monday, November 1, 2021, from 4 - 8 pm. A celebration of Butch’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 2,2021 at 12:30 pm in the funeral home. The interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, where Butch will buried with his brother Charlie.
Butch was born in East Orange, New Jersey and was the son of Walter D., Sr. and Catherine Alberta (nee Columbus) Bayard. New Jersey. He was one of the four children raised in West Orange, New Jersey. Eventually the family made their way to Fairfield where they settled and became part of the community.
He married the love of his life, Alexsandra Vilaca Da Silva, and together they have raised their daughters, Victoria and Hannah, in Fairfield, New Jersey.
Butch was a strong man and proved that daily in his local moving business. In addition to his work, his love of family and friends was paramount in life and continues in his dying.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Alexsandra; cherished daughters, Victoria and Hannah; devoted brother Robert Bayard, his wife, Pam, their children Kayla and Bryce, Sister Cathy’s children, Dylan, Danielle, and Leia; Sister In-Law Kerly Fattibene, husband Rick, and their family as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Butch was predeceased by his brother, Charles Bayard and sister, Catherine Celman.
